Case Study #2 - Michelle
Michelle and her husband retired a bit over 10 years ago. Her husband was full of adventure and managed their finances, but he passed away two years ago. Michelle experienced the emotional loss of her husband’s death, had to re-imagine her future, and had to step into managing her finances and investments.
Michelle was referred to TriCord Advisors through a friend as she sought to get a handle on her assets and the possibilities for her future. We put together a complete picture of her assets and liabilities. Michelle and her husband had done a great job saving and investing over the years, however, they did not have their finances organized. We worked to find accounts based on old brokerage statements, applied for life insurance proceeds relating to her husband’s death, and helped her deal with her loss by celebrating how hard Michelle and her husband had worked to save and invest.
Once we were able to provide Michelle a comprehensive financial plan, she was saw that she not only had sufficient funds for the rest of her life, but that she could travel more, help her grandchildren with college costs, and focus her time leaning into her friendships. This peace of mind allowed Michelle to transition from worry and loss to celebrating her and her husband’s time together and confidently looking toward her own future.
